Set in the South Yorkshire countryside, Hodroyd Hall is a historic manor house that has quietly become one of the most sought-after wedding venues near Wakefield and Barnsley. If you are looking for somewhere that feels private, characterful and genuinely yours for the day, this is a place worth seeing in person.

We are not a conveyor-belt venue. Hodroyd Hall is exclusive-use, which means that on your wedding day the house, the Orangery, the gardens and the grounds belong to you and your guests alone. There is no second wedding in the room next door, and no rushing you out for the evening turnaround. The day runs at your pace.

A day that fits your vision

Couples come to Hodroyd for very different celebrations. We host intimate elopements for as few as ten guests and grand celebrations for up to 120, and everything in between. Whatever your dream day looks like, the spaces flex around it rather than forcing you into a template.

The Spaces

The Orangery is a bright, characterful room that works beautifully for ceremonies and dining, opening out onto the gardens. The Private Library offers a more intimate setting for smaller gatherings and quieter moments away from the party. Outside, the grounds give you room to breathe, and a backdrop that photographs beautifully in every season.

Food That People Remember

Hodroyd Hall is led on the food side by MasterChef's Chris Hale, and dining is treated as part of the experience rather than an afterthought. From feasting-style sharing menus to formal service, the kitchen builds a menu around your day and your guests.

Where is Hodroyd Hall?

Hodroyd Hall sits within easy reach of Wakefield, Barnsley and the wider West Yorkshire area, which makes it a practical choice for you and your guests while still feeling like a proper escape into the countryside. For guests who want to stay over, we also offer luxury overnight rooms on site.

See It For Yourself

The best way to understand Hodroyd Hall is to walk through it. We would love to show you around, talk through your plans, and answer your questions in person. You can book a viewing directly through our Weddings page, and we will take it from there.
